Source: Keeping Baby Fevers in Check
Last month, our little guy started daycare. So, it’s no surprise, the month of February was filled with coughs, runny noses and fevers. I mean, it hit us hard. At one point, our whole family was sick and with me just starting back at work, we were in over our heads. Especially, since we never had to deal with any high fevers with Finn before.
I’m sure I can speak for any mom of a little one, fevers are terrifying. After rushing to the walk-in-clinic just to find out it’s “viral” and the only thing we can do is treat the fever, you feel helpless. Thankfully, the timing was impeccable for Braun to send us both the ThermoScan 5 Ear Thermometer and No Touch + Forehead Thermometer to arm us for the task of keeping those temperatures in check.
One of the scariest things about a sick baby is having no control. But, by simply taking their temperature, you can ease your anxiety because it helps to keep you informed and prepared. Because when you know the severity of a fever, you can at least quickly make a decision about the next steps.
We found we used both thermometers for different reasons during the handful of viruses we encountered the last month. We loved the Braun ThermoScan 5 pre-warmed tip that minimizes the cooling effect that could result from the introduction of a cool probe tip. The pre-warmed tip helps ensure accuracy, measurement after measurement throughout Finn’s cold. Plus, the temperature is accurate to a tenth of a degree which helped guide us through the guesswork of interpreting Finn’s Fever. It is no wonder the Braun ThermoScan 5 is used more than 1.5 million times a day around the world
But, the Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer was a game-changer during those sleepless nights. The three of us were barely sleeping and when Finn finally would get some rest, there was no way I wanted to jostle him awake by taking his temperature. With its revolutionary dual technology and ultra-sensitive sensor, we could get fast and precise temperature readings either in touch mode, by placing the thermometer on the forehead, or by holding it in front of his forehead up to 5 cm away its safe to say both the Braun ThermoScan 5 Ear Thermometer and No Touch + Forehead Thermometer quickly have become some of our most reached for sick baby essentials.
