When we start to build our registries, I find we always think about the day-to-day items. A place for baby to sleep, where to have them hang out when they are awake, what they should wear, etc. It can be overwhelming, especially for a first-time mom. You always feel like you don\u2019t know enough and end up giving up and just submitting what you have for your family and friends to choose from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As much as those items are important, I mean, yes you are going to need a crib for the baby to sleep in, we sometimes forget about a few important things to keep on hand for those less frequent issues. The days with fevers, teething, snotty noses and rashes all come with the good days of first smiles and first time rolling over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With having gone through that first year twice and soon entering into our third, with baby #3 due in the next 2 months, we have built a pretty good list and understanding of what health-related products we should have on hand for those hard days with under-the-weather babies. To help you, new mamas, out, we broke it down into the top 6 products to put on your registry to keep baby healthy and parents prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a parenting game changer. Especially for babies who have yet to figure out how to blow out their noses. The Cool Mist Humidifier will help break up all the yuckiness that is built up inside during your baby\u2019s first cold and keep the air in the nursery well moisturized while they sleep. Yup, you heard that right. There are many of these on the market now from electronic to ones you use your mouth with. But, at the end of the day, babies can\u2019t blow their own nose and be able to suck out anything blocking their breathing can help your sick baby nurse better, sleep better, and be happier overall. This is a total must in our eyes and I can\u2019t tell you how many times it has saved one tired mama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great Bum Rash Cream<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baby\u2019s skin is so sensitive and so are their bellies. Bum rashes can be caused by either. Even if you are using the best diapers and wipes, and breastfeed, your baby can develop the most awful bum rash in one bowel movement if they didn\u2019t like something you had for lunch. Because of this, we always have a good quality tube of rash cream nearby. For me, the best bet is a natural based one that is thick and creates a barrier. But, ask your mom friends, they always want to share their favourite brands with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baby Medicine<\/strong>

We never want to give our babies medicine, I get it. But, if a fever is looming and they are just feeling like garbage, make sure you always have a baby-specific liquid medicine or a homeopathic version on hand. You will be happy you did when that day comes.

Gripe Water<\/strong>

You may never need it, but gripe water is always good to have in the cupboard during those first 6 months with a baby just in case. Going back to that point where if you are breastfeeding, what you eat may affect the baby\u2019s belly, a dose of this all natural licorice tasting thick water like substance could help them with any gas bubbles in their bellies that causes them to scream in terror for hours.
